Advisory Services -
Including Our Proven Workforce Needs Assessment
These are services designed to educate your organization and help you decide on the right human capital management
solution design. Although the solution can be very different between customers based on size, industry vertical and
type of usage, most engagements result in the creation of a business case that supports moving to a centralized
workforce management solution while utilizing a VMS to manage a supply base of staffing companies.
Workforce Needs Assessment
One of our most popular advisory offerings is a comprehensive review of a client's use of contract labor and the
current state of their vendor management program. This process starts when we conduct a Workforce Evaluation Interview
in which we meet with "super users" of contract labor and go through a 72 item questionnaire. Then we conduct a formal
Workforce Needs Assessment with HR, Procurement and other functional stakeholders. Our Business Analysts take the
results of these meetings and compare your current state with benchmarked best practices in the industry. This leads
to a findings and recommendations document and presentation that lays out the design of a fully functional Workforce
Management Solution program. This can be combined with a Business Case document that builds a compelling case for
centralizing and automating your contract labor use.
Business Case Development
As a company realizes the need for a new solution for their Contingent Workforce Management, their first priority is
usually to convince executive leadership that the initiative needs a sponsor. As mentioned above, we conduct a detailed
Workforce Needs Assessment with users and functional subject matter experts and we prepare a Findings and Recommendations
Document that can be presented to potential sponsors, including executive leadership. The evaluation can also include a
thorough financial review that compares the current rates structure to a proposed market driven bill rate card. Or, if a
client is currently using a bill rate card, we have the resources and expertise to carry out a rate card evaluation that
will investigate and uncover hidden cost savings. Finally, a process re-engineering flow diagram is presented that explains
how added soft savings and efficiencies can be driven for the business, making a compelling story for an enterprise-wide
change to a Managed Services Program.
VMS Selection
Our experience with vendor management system providers includes an evaluation of every major VMS provider, as well as
working partnerships with seven of the top providers in the industry, including IQ Navigator, Provade, PeopleClick,
Beeline, Fieldglass , WorkforceLogic and Ariba. Our expertise allows us to assist clients in their selection of the
right VMS technology for their Workforce Management Program. A technology selection engagement begins with a detailed
meeting with the client to determine the important functions of a VMS/MSP and create a business requirements document.
This document is then used to evaluate current VMS providers in order to choose the best partner for our client. We also
outline any of the gaps in the technology solution that would require unique configuration or customization.
Furthermore, we can present the project plan to implement the solution and even guide the client in negotiating their
contract with the provider and serve as an advisor in the process.
